PLIES offers opportunities in ballet to underserved children

More from this show

Bringing ballet to underserved children is the aim of the Ballet Theatre of Phoenix. Their program PLIES (Providing Leaps in Elementary School) select students in the third grade who show an aptitude for learning ballet and a deep desire, but don’t have the financial means to do so. Each year the students progress to more advanced levels, and perhaps go on to professional careers. Ballet Theatre of Phoenix provides all transportation, shoes, costumes, tuition, snacks free of charge. Each year a new roster of kids is added. For more art related content, click here.
