LON’s at The Hermosa Inn: Rich in history and flavor
March 19
Located in Paradise Valley, LON’s at The Hermosa Inn is an oasis for guests to enjoy delicious dishes and a romantic atmosphere.
Jon Dils, Managing Director, said the restaurant is rich in both wine and history. The house was built in the 1930s and grew to include LON’s in 1992. Originally home to artist Lon Megargee, the restaurant now opens its doors for guests.
Dils said they offer a brunch menu where guests can find all their favorite foods. For dinner, he said the menu is made up of globally inspired Arizona cuisine and spins on classic dishes.
He said the ambiance changes with the time of day. Guests that come earlier in the day can find a casual yet upscale atmosphere.
When the sun goes down, the white tablecloths come out. Dils said guests coming in during the evening enjoy a high-end dining experience.
What makes the restaurant unlike any other, Dils said, is the patio. The patio is packed with flowers, statues and exquisite trees shading the area, which makes it perfect for outdoor dining.
“From the moment guests walk in to when they leave, I want their experience to be an incredible journey of the five senses,” Dils said. “I want all five senses to be engaged and satisfied.”
For guest Stephanie Jackson, it has been her go-to place for years. She said LON’s at The Hermosa Inn is the most romantic restaurant in Arizona.
For her entree, Jackson had the filet mignon with boursin potatoes, which she said complemented the dish perfectly.
Jackson topped off her visit with something sweet and had the churro tree accompanied by three sauces. The churro recipe is a restaurant secret, she said, with the recipe originating from the original LON’s pastry chef.
Jackson’s pro tip: Use the valet services to get the experience of walking through the property.
