The Flavor of Arizona
March 19
On this episode of “Check, Please! Arizona,” guests try bold new flavors and enjoy a classic, comfort meal at local Arizona restaurants.
To start off, Amoré Cianciola recommended Fry Bread House. Richard Perry, co-owner of Fry Bread House, said it is a unique restaurant that uses frybread as the main part of their menu. The restaurant was also the recipient of the James Beard Award®, which was not only an accomplishment for the restaurant but for the community.
Next up is guest Stephanie Jackson with LON’s at The Hermosa Inn. Jon Dils, Managing Director, said the restaurant is packed with history. Originally built in the 1930s and expanding to include the restaurant in 1992, LON’s opens it doors for guests looking for a nice getaway. Dils said they offer globally inspired Arizona cuisine and spins on classic dishes.
Finally is guest Brooke Morrison’s pick, Soul Cafe. Sheila Bryson, owner and executive chef, said Soul Cafe is the heart of the community. Bryson said she took inspiration from her favorite meals when curating the menu. She said when creating the cocktail program, Bryson had the same level of care as creating the food menu. Whether guests come in the morning to start off their day or come to wind down in the evening, Bryson said all guests get what they come looking for.
