Family Math workshop at Challenger Elementary School in Peoria

Sept. 10, 2025 • Our first Education Ambassador, Shelbie Glover, led an engaging Family Math workshop at Challenger Elementary School in Peoria, bringing students and families together to explore the fun and excitement of math through hands-on activities and collaborative learning.

Early learning site tour at Hewey Childcare, Kayenta ABC and Head Start

Oct. 30, 2025 • Hosted by First Things First (FTF) Navajo Nation, this early learning site tour was also a celebration and appreciation for the Hewey Childcare Center, Kayenta Unified School District ABC Preschool and Navajo Nation Head Start in Kayenta, Arizona. Attendees included FTF staff, members of FTF state and regional boards and staff members of the early learning centers, including the center directors and the high school principal of Monument Valley High School.

‘Sesame Street’ Week and lively lineup of fun activities

Nov. 10, 2025 • “Sesame Street” Week, hosted by Arizona PBS and Phoenix Public Libraries, took place from November 10 to 15, 2025. Families, caregivers and educators enjoyed a lively lineup of story times, crafts, songs and very special character appearances. The bright, colorful banner featuring a friendly blue “Sesame Street” character reflected the fun atmosphere of the weeklong celebration, which promoted imaginative play and healthy digital habits for children.

‘Sesame Street’ Week ends with a Playful Puppet Tea Party

Nov. 15, 2025 • “Sesame Street Week” concluded with a whimsical Tea Party with Puppet Pie, held at Burton Barr Central Library in the morning and Agave Library in the afternoon. Families enjoyed a playful, hands-on celebration featuring a charming story all about “going with the flow.” It was a delightful wrap-up to a week of learning, laughter and “Sesame Street” fun.

Family Math workshops and story times at Chávez Public Library

Nov. 17, 2025 • Chávez Public Library kicked off three consecutive Mondays of Family Math workshops and story times in Phoenix, bringing learning and fun together for little ones and their families. Kids enjoyed hands-on activities, early literacy and playful math moments with the kids. It was a joyful start to this special story time series!
