Cybersecurity related to AI; immune responses to vaccines; Mexican gray wolves

On this episode of “Arizona Horizon,” Dr. Nadya Bliss, Executive Director and Professor of Practice for the Advanced Capabilities for National Security Institute at ASU, discussed the latest cybersecurity concerns involving AI. Leaders of global tech companies urge hospitals and local governments to strengthen their cybersecurity before AI-led cyberattacks can impact them.

We also heard from Dr. Josh LaBaer, Executive Director of ASU’s Biodesign Institute, who discussed the reason why vaccines have different levels of effectiveness on different immune systems. A new ASU-led study dives deeper into understanding why different bodies have different responses to the same vaccine.

Finally, Sandy Bahr, director of the Sierra Club’s Grand Canyon Chapter, discussed the future of Mexican gray wolves in the US. President Donald Trump signed an executive order to consider delisting Mexican gray wolves from the Endangered Species Act.
