Arizona National Parks face challenges after federal funding cuts

More from this show

Arizona National Parks face significant funding cuts after the U.S. Department of the Interior blocked hundreds of National Park partnership agreements worth over $20 million. This includes previously approved congressional funding for certain projects.

The Arizona parks affected are Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument and Lake Mead National Recreation Area.

Matthew Nelson, Executive Director of the Arizona Trails Association, joined “Arizona Horizon” to discuss how Arizona’s National Parks will address these changes and how it will affect visitors.
