How to detect what is real versus AI-generated

More from this show

Artificial Intelligence or AI has kept people questioning what is real. AI has become increasingly common online over the past three years, and we see its use in images, video and even text. This has led to people increasingly being asked to make difficult judgments about what is real, and what can be trusted.

This also led to AI-detection tools being used quite often to determine who is using artificial intelligence in their work online. However, as it turns out, those AI-detection tools are producing false positives.

Jaron Mink, an assistant professor of computer science and engineering at ASU, joined “Arizona Horizon” to talk about how we can tell whether what we are watching or reading is AI-generated or real.
