Eight invites Downton Abbey devotees to an upscale celebration of the beloved drama, followed by a first look at the new season

WHAT: The wait is almost over for Season 4 of Downton Abbey, the most-watched drama in PBS history! Eight, Arizona PBS counts down to the highly anticipated premiere, airing Jan. 5 at 8 p.m. on Eight, with an unforgettable 1920s-inspired evening on Sunday, December 8 at the fabulous Ritz-Carlton, Phoenix. The evening will begin at 5 p.m. with a VIP reception, at which guests are invited to dress in their best ‘Roaring 20s’ attire as they enjoy live entertainment, a costume contest, hors d’oeuvres guaranteed to please even the most discerning palates, and exclusive Downton Abbey giveaways to celebrate the return of their favorite elegant estate.

Tickets to the VIP event are available for purchase at $90 per person and may be procured at www.azpbs.org/downton. Proceeds of this special event benefit Eight, Arizona PBS.

Following the reception, Eight, Arizona PBS will offer a first look at Downton Abbey Season 4 with an exclusive sneak preview of the first hour of the season opener at a free public screening in The Ritz-Carlton Ballroom at 6 p.m. Six months have passed since the tragic accident that left fans reeling, and Eight welcomes viewers to be the first with the scoop on the Crawleys and their favorite series characters.

Eight encourages fans searching for more Downton Abbey to tune in to Return to Downton Abbey, hosted by Academy Award-winning actress Susan Sarandon, Sunday, Dec. 1 at 8 p.m. Return to Downton Abbey features the most jaw-dropping, heartstring-pulling events from the past three seasons of Downton Abbey and provides a tantalizing taste of Season 4, featuring a mix of behind-the-scenes footage, interviews with creators and cast members and video clips of favorite moments.
