Eight’s Great GrillFest featuring local restaurants and personalities returns to Peoria, tickets on sale now – November 2

PEORIA (Aug. 4, 2014) – Tickets for the second year of Eight’s Great GrillFest go on sale Fri., Aug. 8, at www.azpbs.org/grillfest. The event returns this year Sun., Nov. 2, noon to 3pm, with a new location, a new VIP ticket, and a new emphasis on fine wines.

Eight, Arizona PBS in conjunction with R Entertainment Company and the City of Peoria present Eight’s Great GrillFest, this time at the beautiful Trilogy Golf Club at Vistancia in Peoria. Trilogy Golf Club draws upon distinctive desert land features against the backdrop of a western sky, resulting in an extraordinary setting.

So popular was last year’s premier event that this year it offers a VIP ticket to deliver an even more exclusive up close-and-personal option for fans. The VIP ticket allows guests early entry to enjoy first access to a myriad of grilled food samples from participating metro Phoenix restaurants and an exclusive panel discussion featuring nationally recognized personalities from America’s Test Kitchen, Julia Collin Davison and Bridget Lancaster, and international wine authority Anthony Dias Blue. Blue is known worldwide for the San Francisco International Wine Competition, the largest global wine competition in the USA, and the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. He is author of numerous books on wine and food. Also joining the panel are the host of Eight’s Check, Please! Arizona, Chef Robert McGrath, and Savor the Southwest’s Barbara Fenzl. In addition to appearances on America’s Test Kitchen, Davison also is executive food editor of the show’s new media, television and radio initiatives. Similarly, Lancaster also is executive food editor of the book division of America’s Test Kitchen and appears on Cook’s Country from America’s Test Kitchen. Anthony Dias Blue also owns and is editor-in-chief of beverage trade publication The Tasting Panel Magazine. Davison, Lancaster and Blue will showcase their culinary expertise on the SubZero/Wolf Chef’s Demonstration Stage and participate in the VIP panel discussion along with locally based and nationally acclaimed chefs McGrath and Fenzl. A new addition to Eight’s Great GrillFest is Martie Sullivan of Arizona’s Sweet Basil Gourmetware and Cooking School. Similar to a popular kitchen tools segment regularly featured on America’s Test Kitchen, Sullivan will lead a seminar on high-quality kitchen gear. Arizona culinary doyenne Fenzl, who has starred in Eight’s Savor the Southwest, serves as official host of Eight’s Great GrillFest and will present a cooking demonstration for fans. James Beard Foundation award-winner Chef McGrath, who hosts the station’s number-one locally produced show, will share his culinary techniques on stage as well.Tickets.
