PHOENIX – (Dec. 28, 2015)

Arizona PBS invites food enthusiasts to dig in to season six of the four-time Emmy Award-winning series "Check, Please! Arizona," premiering Jan. 7 at 7 p.m.

The sixth season of Arizona PBS’s highest-rated locally produced series features a diverse lineup of the Valley’s dining destinations, from inspiring food and drinks to eclectic ethnic restaurants and happy-hour hotspots. The new season will include a wide variety of restaurants, presenting viewers with gourmet dishes from Ireland, South America, Thailand and many more.

Check, Please! Arizona’ profiles restaurants recommended by fellow Arizonans who love food and enjoy eating out,” said Arizona PBS producer Margery Punnett. “That’s the fun of the show. They have made great choices this season, and you won’t want to miss their lively conversations with James Beard award-winning chef Robert McGrath.

Each restaurant featured on the show has been nominated by a local viewer who is not affiliated with the restaurant. To be featured, a restaurant must be local to Arizona and independently owned and have been in business for a minimum of two years.

Each week on "Check, Please! Arizona," local foodies dine at and then review the three restaurants they recommended to each other in a roundtable discussion with series host Robert McGrath, an internationally acclaimed chef, whom Food & Wine magazine ranked among the “Ten Best Chefs in America.”

"As I await the upcoming new season of ‘Check, Please! Arizona,’it's hard to believe we are into season six and gaining strength," McGrath said. "The program continues to have great energy, great restaurants and great team. I can’t wait for it to premier on Arizona PBS."
