Arizona PBS, Arizona Republic to host 3rd Congressional District debate Sept. 18

PHOENIX – (Sept. 14, 2018)

WHAT:  Arizona PBS, in partnership with The Arizona Republic and azcentral.com, is hosting an hourlong live television debate of candidates from Arizona’s 3rd Congressional District. Candidates will debate issues related to the district, as well as the state and country.

WHO: Arizona PBS will showcase the two candidates competing in the Nov. 6 general election:

  • Rep. Raul Grijalva (Democratic incumbent)
  • Nicolas Pierson (Republican)

“Arizona Horizon” host Ted Simons and Arizona Republic/azcentral.com reporter Yvonne Wingett Sanchez will moderate the debate.

WHEN:  Tuesday, Sept. 18, at 5 p.m. (candidates arrive at approximately 4:30 p.m.), live on “Arizona Horizon”

WHERE:  Arizona PBS studios, 555 N. Central Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85004, Studio A, sixth floor (light rail accessible from Van Buren Street stop).

A media room will be set aside where credentialed members of the media can view the debate. Photo opportunities, as well as audio and video feeds for media, will be made available. Candidates may make themselves available for interviews following the debate.

The public can watch the debate live on “Arizona Horizon” on Arizona PBS at 5 p.m., with encore presentations at 10 p.m. and at 7 p.m. on Arizona PBS World Channel (8.3) – or the following day on our website www.azpbs.org/horizon or our YouTube channel www.youtube.com/azpbs.
