Continue Anne Shirley’s journey in ‘Anne of Green Gables: Fire and Dew’

The third and newest installment of the classic Lucy Maud Montgomery story, “Anne of Green Gables: Fire and Dew” is coming to Arizona PBS on Sunday, Sept. 23, at 6:30 p.m.

The short series features Anne Shirley, an orphan girl adopted by siblings, Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert in the fictional town of Avonlea on Canada’s Prince Edward Island. By now, Shirley is a free-spirited teenager ready to pursue advanced education toward becoming a teacher.

Follow Anne Shirley’s journey to Queen’s College in Charlottetown. The third installment, written and directed by John Kent Harrison, will once again star critically acclaimed actor Martin Sheen as Matthew Cuthbert, along with the return of Ella Ballentine as Anne Shirley and Canadian treasure Sara Botsford as Marilla Cuthbert.

Through loneliness, drama, family struggle and adjusting to adulthood, will Anne find that the dark cloud over her life does have a silver lining?
