Black History Month serves as a time to celebrate accomplished, significant and remarkable Black men and women who made history. But it’s also important to use this time to shine a light on aspects of the Black community that are rarely discussed – like struggles with mental health. This month, Arizona PBS wants to change the narrator to talk about these very real issues.
Pastor Jason Turner serves as senior pastor of Christian Faith Fellowship Church in Chandler, Arizona. He has been in ministry for over 35 years and has dealt with balancing mental health issues and faith. He can speak on both.
Ashlea Taylor is a licensed marriage and family therapist and owner of Favor & Grace Under Fire Therapy and Consulting. As a Black woman, she understands the struggles of being strong and seeking help through therapy, and works hard to educate those in the Black community.
