CC’s on Central: A hidden gem with bold flavors

More from this show

If you aren’t afraid of bold flavors and spice, CC’s on Central is just the place for you. “The Arizona Republic” named it the best place for fried chicken in Phoenix!

Guest Allie Knoble said after continuously getting it recommended by friends and seeing it on social media, she had to try it for herself.

Sharon Cunningham, Owner and Operator of CC’s on Central, said she drew inspiration from the dishes she grew up eating and loving.

She said this hidden gem incorporates home-style cooking mixed with soul food all topped with creole flavors.

“I believe that if you’re not sneezing, it’s not seasoned,” Cunningham said.

The restaurant is located in an office building so parking in the garage is recommended for guests.

Knoble tried the fried chicken dinner accompanied by sweet potatoes and greens. The chicken, she said, was juicy, crispy and fell right off the bone. The seasoning was savory, buttery and sweet, and the honey butter biscuits were “to die for.”

While she did not have room to indulge in dessert, it is all the more reason to come back and snag a bite of the sweet potato pie.

Knoble’s pro-tip: Don’t let the parking stop you from coming in, and be ready to eat.
