Feringhee Modern Indian Food: A trip to India
April 21
Born from wanting to bring Indian food to Arizona, Feringhee Modern Indian Food does just that.
Kishore Thadikamalla, the general manager, said Feringhee Modern Indian Food combines different parts of India to offer guests the best variety dishes.
Thadikamalla said guests should try the panipuris or the Feringhee chaat, which he said is out of this world. The classic butter chicken is another good pick and something guests can never go wrong with.
He said they have more than a hundred labels of wine and a fantastic selection of whiskey that guests can pair with their meal.
Not only does the menu take guests on a trip to India, but so does the atmosphere. Thadikamalla said during the day, the restaurant’s mellow vibe is perfect for business meetings or family gatherings. As the sun goes down, he said said they want guests to unwind and enjoy their night out.
“For somebody wanting to experience what Indian food is, this is the place,” Thadikamalla said. “We will give the whole experience.”
Chandler Mayor Kevin Hartke said Feringhee Modern Indian Food has become one of his favorite spots.
To start off his visit, Hartke had the Tandoori chicken momo. Similar to a dumpling, the dish was filled with ground chicken and fantastic flavors.
For the main dish, Hartke enjoyed the non-vegetarian thali, which he called a “culinary expedition through India.” The dish came 10 different items from the menu and Hartke chose the butter chicken as the entree. He said it is the dish he will get every visit.
No dinner is complete without desert. Apart of the thali platter, he had the gulab jamun, which are traditional Indian fried balls.
Hartke’s pro tip: Enjoy the fantastic location that is close to both the Chandler Fashion Center and Chandler Museum
