Online version of Wall of Faces memorial

More from this show

The virtual Wall of Faces features a page dedicated to honoring and remembering every person whose name is inscribed on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. In an effort to further preserve the legacy of those who sacrificed all in Vietnam, VVMF is committed to finding a photo to go with each of the more than 58,000 names on The Wall.

The Wall of Faces allows family and friends to share memories, post pictures and connect with each other. Originally there was an effort underway to build an education center near the wall that displays a photograph of each person.

But two years ago, the building of a center in DC became too expensive, therefore the online version became a reality. Now, volunteers like Sharon continue to locate better photos and post them on the website.

Additionally, there is a traveling “Wall That Heals” displays locals’ photos when on the road. Of the 58,281 named on The Wall thousands are deemed as needing a better photo.
