Oct. 24, 2025
It’s Friday, which means it is time for another edition of Journalists’ Roundtable. This week, “Arizona Horizon” host Ted Simons was joined by Jessica Boehm of Axios Phoenix, Camryn Sanchez of KJZZ, and Dennis Welch of CBS5 News/3TV.
This weeks topics include
- Mayes Sues U.S. House
- Fake Electors Case
- Swoboda Announces for CD1
- Lamb Announces for CD5
- New Label for No Labels Party
- Elections Procedure Manual
Adelita Grijalva:
Jessica Boehm: “We say usually she is suing the Trump administration, this time she is suing the U.S. House, saying that it is past time for Congresswoman elect Grijalva to be sworn in, and asking the court…if Speaker Johnson isn’t going to swear her in, making sure someone else is able to do so.”
Camryn Sanchez: “It’s a legal question though because it’s not like there’s a statute that says the speaker has to do it within 24 hours…she’s sort of arguing this is a taxation without representation issue more broadly speaking, but sometimes these elected officials have a lot of discretion when they want to make decisions.”
Dennis Welch: “Here we are we’re like a month past Adelita Grijalva winning her election pretty handedly…the race has been certified by the state, and she sits and waits…and she has no office…theres concerns about the constituents in Arizona getting the help they need…Grijalva will tell you the reason why she thinks speaker Johnson is not seating her right now…and it has to do with the Epstein list.”
Swoboda Announces for CD1:
Camryn Sanchez: “The Arizona Republican party chair…she’s got a lot of friends, but also one particular faction of the Republican party is an enemy of hers…that includes Jake Hoffman, Tyler Bowyer, pretty much the Turning Point wing…so that’s going to be a little bit awkward.”
