EIGHT, ARIZONA PBS

To kick-off the re-release of the Savor the Southwest 13-part series, Eight/KAET Phoenix is bringing together many of the original participants for a live 3-hour cooking show, Savor the Southwest Fiesta.  The new special is hosted by cookbook author and cooking teacher Barbara Fenzl, host of the original series. Each participating chef will prepare one new recipe and talk about the origins of the culinary heritage that is unique to the American Southwest. Savor the Southwest Fiesta airs Saturday, Mar. 5, 2011 at noon on Eight.

Chefs scheduled to appear include:  Chuck Wiley (Hotel Valley Ho, Scottsdale, Ariz.),  Lenard Rubin (The Vig and The Vig Uptown, Phoenix, Ariz.), Donna Nordin (cooking teacher in Arizona and California), Janos Wilder (Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa, Tucson, Ariz.),  Robert McGrath (Renegade Canteen, Scottsdale, Ariz.), Roxsand Scocos McCreary, Vincent Guerithault (Vincent’s on Camelback in Scottsdale, Ariz.), and Loretta Barrett Oden (PBS series, Seasoned with Spirit). Savor the Southwest debuted in 1999.

Savor the Southwest Fiesta is distributed by National Educational Telecommunications Association (NETA) to public television stations nationwide.
