Arizona PBS today announced it will be presenting new seasons of local productions, “Check, Please! Arizona” and “Trail Mix’d,” as part of a new, hour-long programming block, called “Go See AZ.” Airing Thursdays from 7 to 8 p.m. starting February 5, 2026, this new block will feature episodes from season 13 of “Check, Please! Arizona” and season three of “Trail Mix’d.”
“From Arizona’s thriving culinary scene to its diverse landscapes and scenic hiking trails, there’s so much to explore across this state, and that’s exactly what we’re seeking to do with our new ‘Go See AZ’ local programming block,” said Arizona PBS General Manager Scott Woelfel.
The hour-long programming block will begin at 7 p.m. with new episodes of “Check, Please! Arizona,” a half-hour restaurant review series which is now in its 13th season. Utilizing the same format as the previous 12 seasons, each episode features three Arizona residents, all of whom suggest a local restaurant for the group to try and subsequently review over the course of a 30-minute program. Although the format will remain unchanged, viewers will notice several aesthetic updates in the upcoming season, including a new opening sequence, graphics package and set.
For the first 12 seasons of “Check, Please! Arizona,” the show was filmed at Arizona PBS’ studios in downtown Phoenix. For season 13, however, production shoots took place at Tarbell’s, the restaurant owned by “Check, Please! Arizona” host Chef Mark Tarbell. Comprised of 10, half-hour episodes, the upcoming season spotlights 30 local small businesses, adding to the more than 350 restaurants that have been featured on the series since it premiered in 2011. Watch a preview of season 13 ahead of the first episode!
The second half of the “Go See AZ” programming block will begin at 7:30 p.m. with new episodes from the third season of “Trail Mix’d,” Arizona PBS’ hiking and outdoors-focused series. As the station announced last August, local journalist and digital media personality Kristen Keogh is the new host of “Trail Mix’d.” A two-time Emmy® Award-winning broadcast journalist, Keogh has anchored news and weather for local affiliates in both Phoenix and San Diego. She also served as the in-arena host for the Arizona Coyotes hockey team for five seasons and, in recent years, has cultivated community across various digital and social media platforms.
Comprised of eight, half-hour episodes, the third season of “Trail Mix’d” features 16 trails not featured in the show’s first two seasons. With themed episodes, such as an urban hiking episode and a Monument Valley-focused episode, viewers will follow Keogh as she explores some of Arizona’s most iconic and picturesque trails, talking with fellow hikers, trail stakeholders and community members along the way. Catch a preview of Keogh out on the trails before the first episode airs this Thursday!
The third season of “Trail Mix’d” is made possible in large part by continued support from Arizona PBS donors Bill and Susan Ahearn, as well as from corporate support provided by Arizona Lottery, Banner Sports Medicine, The Linkous Group, Salt River Project and Whitfill Nursery.
The 13th season of “Check, Please! Arizona” is made possible from corporate support provided by Copenhagen, Hospice of the Valley, Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers, The Linkous Group and Whitfill Nursery.
Those who aren’t able to watch the broadcast of both series on Thursday nights can watch on demand at azpbs.org or on the PBS App.
