A storyteller from Stories from the Stage

Unveiling New Stories, New Connections

Last year, we participated in an inspiring new season of “Stories from the Stage,” which airs on our World 8.3 channel. On April 14, 2023, we featured a special co-presentation recorded at Arizona PBS’ studios titled “Flourishing in the Desert.”

The Southwest is hot and dry, but for millions of people, it’s a place to thrive. After her divorce, Lisa, a writer, redefines herself in the great outdoors; Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Daniel struggles with linguistic dualities; and after leaving California, Shareé wonders if she can find home. Three storytellers, three interpretations of “Flourishing in the Desert,” hosted by Theresa Okokon.

The recording included a live studio audience made up of Arizona PBS members, colleagues from ASU, and friends and family of the storytellers, which followed a well-attended reception.

On November 20, 2023, we participated in a taping titled “All Connected.” When it comes to overcoming challenges and finding contentment, connections often play an essential role. Jose chases his dream of playing football and learns life is about relationships; Darcy adopts four children and begins a family; and Kyle shares the love and wisdom he received on the Navajo reservation. Three storytellers, three interpretations of “All Connected,” hosted by Theresa Okokon.

Stream the episodes above or catch all seven seasons and their extras on the PBS app.

It was a joy to host “Stories from the Stage,” where ordinary people share extraordinary experiences.
