Precautions for rising temperatures in Phoenix metro area

More from this show

Temperatures are rising in the Valley this summer, and there are necessary steps to be taken to avoid dehydration, burns and overall health. Dehydration becomes a risk much faster as the heat continues to rise, especially for older adults, children and outdoor workers.

Dangers also come from the heat off of the pavement, playground equipment and any metal surfaces.

Hydrating early, limiting exposure during the peak of the heat and testing out surfaces before contacting are just a few precautions that can be taken to avoid the danger.

Dr. Michael White, Chief Clinical Officer of Valleywise Health, joined “Arizona Horizon” to discuss the best ways to avoid the heat dangers and stay cool.
