Colorado water cuts impact; Rio Reimagined project; ASU’s new medical school

More from this show

On this episode of “Arizona Horizon,” the President and CEO of the Arizona Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Danny Seiden, sat down to discuss the new Colorado River Plan and water cuts. The federal government announced its plan to curb Arizona’s use of Colorado River water, and cities around the Valley have begun pursuing alternative water sources.

We also heard from Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego who discussed “Rio Reimagined,” the new plan to turn Rio Salado into a mixed-use hub along the Salt River. The project prioritizes a new farmers market, public trails and increased walkability.

Finally, Founding Dean of ASU’s John Shufeldt School of Medicine Holly Lisanby shared information on the college’s new medical school. The school is shaping medical school students as physician engineers and offers both an MD and a Master of Science in medical engineering.
