More from this showIn this episode of “Arizona Horizon,” we sat down with Brian Watson, R.O.S.E. Community Outreach Specialist, to discuss ways seniors can be educated about how to avoid financial scams. Watson, a former Special Agent and PIO with the IRS, works to shed light on these scams.
We also heard from Michelle Beaver, Founder and Executive Director of News Literacy for Arizona, to learn about free 50-minute workshops hosted by the non-profit. The workshops detail the importance of news literacy, journalism’s role in a democracy and more.
Finally, Arizona author Allison Brennan discussed her book, “Whisper Creek.” The story centers on one family’s fight for their land against both human enemies and Mother Nature.
