Cornish Pasty Company

Cornish Pasty Company is known for its hand-made pasties featuring a flaky pastry pocket filled with meat and vegetables. The eatery offers more than 40 kinds of pasties, including vegetarian and vegan options.

The owner, Dean Thomas, said the restaurant has the vibe of a traditional English pub with “dim lighting, wooden tables and wooden bar faces,” he explained. “I believe what makes the pasty a perfect meal is it’s substantial, warm and comforting even in the desert heat,” Thomas added.

Cornish Pasty Company has eight Arizona locations, most of which are open until 1 a.m. or 2 a.m.

Visit one of the Cornish Pasty Company’s locations at 7 W. Monroe Street, Phoenix, AZ, or visit their website for more information.

AZ 88 chicken sandwich

AZ 88

As the name suggests, AZ 88 opened in Arizona in 1988 in the Scottsdale Civic Center area. It is a bar with an eclectic menu of salads, chicken sandwiches and martinis that are famously served “to the brim,” meaning servers bring them to the table without spilling a drop.

The space features a contemporary bar with attractive glass architecture, an inviting patio and unusual modern art installations that rotate throughout the year.

Dale Jodoin, General Manager and President of AZ 88, described the restaurant as an upscale bar that serves American bar food, and they are open each night until 12 a.m.

You can visit AZ 88 at 7353 E. Scottsdale Mall, Scottsdale, AZ, or visit their website for more information.

With an American-style menu emphasizing classic flavors, the tender meat pairs well with unique side dishes that elevate the entrees perfectly.

One of the leaders in Arizona restaurants for their cocktail program, the menu prides itself on its vibrant array of unusual options. You can enjoy their cuisine until 11 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, and 12 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
