Global Ties Arizona promotes international exchange and education

More from this show

Global Ties Arizona has a nearly 60-year history of fostering global connections for Arizonans through international exchange programs, community educational programs and special events. The organization is dedicated to building strong international relationships that foster more peaceful, informed and prosperous communities across Arizona and the world. They do this through international exchange and global education programs.

Especially in a time of division, Global Ties Arizona believes they help make meaningful connections between diverse sets of people.

“Arizona Horizon” was joined by Kristin Allen, President and CEO of Global Ties Arizona, to discuss what the organization does and some encouraging success stories with clients around the world.

“For folks that are already here, they’re learning about other places around the world without really even leaving home” Allen said.

Allen went on to underscore how important this experience is for the visitors as well. “Oftentimes, this is their first time in the United States. It is their first real exposure.”

Another goal of Global Ties Arizona is to break the preconceived notion that Arizona is just a hot desert and nothing more.

“I think visitors walk away being very surprised. It’s probably a preconception that we are in the middle of a desert here, and ultimately we do have that, but we also get to show them many of the parts of Arizona that are interesting and beautiful, the landscape, the people, the culture as well as all the amazing industry.”
