U.S., Canadian tensions amid new tariffs; Flock Cameras; Black Theatre Troupe

On this episode of “Arizona Horizon,” Attorney Robert McWhirter sat down to discuss the City of Tempe’s termination of its contract with Flock Safety. The company produced Flock Cameras that track vehicle details such as license plates, bumper stickers and more.

We also heard from John von Heyking, Associate Director of the School of Civic and Economic Thought and Leadership at ASU, who discussed the impact of President Trump’s proposed Canadian tariff. The tariff would apply a 50% tax to all cars, car parts and steel from Canada starting in 2027.

Finally, Matthew Wiener, director of “The Exonerated,” and David Hemphill, Executive Director of the Black Theatre Troupe, discussed Black Theatre Troupe’s start to the 2026-27 season. “The Exonerated” follows six wrongfully convicted death row inmates awaiting the death penalty for crimes they did not commit.
