New laws involving Arizona homeowners associations took effect this week. The laws aim to provide more protections for homeowners against strict HOA regulations.
Some of the new laws include: HOAs can no longer foreclose on a home for less than $10,000 in missed assessment payments from a resident, homeowners now have 18 months to pay off overdue bills, homeowners must now be able to install shade structures on their property and new laws regarding flags on properties. Additionally, the HOAs must apply all these new laws fairly to all homeowners.
