In 2014, Royal Navy Veteran Bernie Jordan and his wife Irene faced the usual challenges that life in senior care would present an 80-something couple. However, he had his reasons to attend the 70th anniversary commemoration ceremonies for D-Day in Normandy landing. As she covered for him, he snuck out of the facility to do just that.
