CRUjiente: A taco haven with global flavors

More from this show

At CRUjiente, chef and owner Rich Hinojosa is serving up a unique twist on street tacos that reflects his Mexican roots and global travels.

From Korean Fried Chicken to wild mushroom and al pastor, each taco is a flavor-packed adventure. The restaurant’s name, CRUjiente, meaning “crunch” in Spanish, perfectly captures the satisfying textures found in their dishes.

The bar at CRUjiente boasts an impressive selection of mescal, tequila, and bourbon, creating a perpetual happy hour vibe with drink and food specials. Hinojosa describes the atmosphere as laid-back, gradually transitioning to a lively setting as the night unfolds. The music gets a bit louder, creating a comfortable and enjoyable experience.

Hinojosa ensures happy hour at CRU is a big deal, happening twice daily. Their goal is simple: they want guests to leave happy and satisfied. Pedro Sanchez, a guest on “Check, Please! Arizona,” attests to the lasting appeal of the Korean Fried Chicken taco, a menu favorite since day one.

Stacy Hettmansperger, another guest on “Check, Please! Arizona,” was impressed by the diverse craft beer selection. Her advice? Sit at the bar for the optimal experience, where the ambiance and drinks seamlessly come together.

CRUjiente isn’t just a place to eat; it’s an authentic journey through inventive street tacos and a celebration of great drinks, ensuring a memorable and satisfying experience for every guest.
