Energy Demands

More from this show

We hit a record for electricity demand last month and are just now coming into the usual normal summer energy-use peak time. HORIZON reports on the summer energy demand. Plus, the Arizona Corporation Commission has a proposal to increase the amount of renewable energy required of the state’s utilities from 1.1 percent to 15 percent. It’s controversial because solar, natural gas and other renewable energy costs more. Given our state’s growth, the state agency says it is necessary. Guests include Corporation Commissioner Kris Mayes.
