Explore the haunted history of Phoenix on a thrilling ghost tour

More from this show

Phoenix has a troubled history and a rich modern culture that makes it so special. On the Phoenix Ghost Tour, participants learn about this history and hear blood-chilling stories about some of the most well-known spirits and legends downtown has to offer.

Lucas Mukai, tour guide at the Phoenix Ghost Tours, joined “Arizona Horizon” to discuss the Phoenix Ghost Tour.

The tour takes participants on a journey through time to experience the tragedy and mystery of these hauntings. Each stop on the tour has been researched extensively as the tours are a mix of narrative and historical storytelling.

The tours are suitable for longtime residents who want to learn more about their city and visiting travelers looking for an experience they will never forget. Some landmarks include the Hotel San Carlos, The Rosson House and Hanny’s. On some occasions, the Orpheum and Union Station are also included in the tour.

“The Orpheum is one of my favorite places. I would dare say the most haunted place in all of Phoenix,” Mukai said. “There are many ghosts here, and the Orpheum is quite proud of this history as well.”

A popular clothing store now turned restaurant, Hanny’s has been popular in Phoenix for years, but there is a larger history behind the store.

“Now, the rumor goes that in Hanny’s, no one actually knows where these dolls come from, and that they have been appearing mysteriously for years,” Mukai said.

The company’s full name is USGhostAdventures, and Phoenix is one of the 100 cities it operates in. Mukai is a teacher who has been a tour guide for 2 and half years. He said, “I’ve always been just a little bit afraid of ghosts, so it’s been quite the experience!”
