Arizona holds first statewide town hall on education solutions
Sept. 23
The Arizona Media Association and Clean Elections announced the first statewide town hall on education in Arizona. Titled “Inside the Issues: Education Solutions for Arizona,” the town hall aired on Arizona PBS on September 23, 2025, and a replay can be streamed online on our website.
The effort gathered various leaders in Arizona education to discuss early childhood education, K through 12, post-secondary education and the future of Arizona education.
Our education solutions reporter at Arizona PBS, Roxanne De La Rosa, was in attendance, and joined “Arizona Horizon” to provide in-person perspective. Read some of her articles for more information about education solutions for Arizona.
“…it’s a first of its kind panel,” De La Rosa said, “…get experts in early education, K through 12 funding, higher education, and experts on what the future of education could look like.”
De La Rosa described how the panel held a discussion around some of the issues and solutions on education in Arizona.
“…I think a major issue, or takeaway that I got from attending this town hall is that our public education system is massively underfunded,” De La Rosa explained.
De La Rosa emphasized that the general feeling she received after witnessing this town hall is that voters need to educate themselves on what is going on in office, and what legislators are supporting.
Arizona Media Association helped fund De La Rosa, and other reporters across Arizona in their efforts to showcase these education stories.
“The majority of these roles are focused on education solutions,” De La Rosa said, “…and they put them even in deserts, where they might not be a reporter, to report around education.”
De La Rosa, who is also a reporter for Arizona PBS, explained how she reports on anything education, but specifically education solutions in Arizona.
