AgeTech advancements; remembering Rob Schumacher; Phoenix park revitalization

More from this show

On this episode of “Arizona Horizon,” we’ll discuss AgeTech from AARP, which is helping to make homes safer for aging adults who want to spend their time at home, as opposed to a care facility. To discuss more about AgeTech, Dana Marie Kennedy, the State Director for AARP Arizona, joined Ted Simons.

We will also remember the legacy of Rob Schumacher, a photographer for The Arizona Republic who recently passed away on May 17. Schumacher had many achievements during his career, including taking the Arizona Associated Press Managing Editor’s photo of the year in 2003. Michael Chow, a photographer who worked with Schumacher, joined Ted Simons to remember his career.

Finally, we will hear about changes coming to Margaret T. Hance Park in Phoenix. APS has pledged $250,000 to support the additions to Hance Park. To hear more about these changes, Devney Majerle, President and CEO of Downtown Phoenix Inc. and Tim Sprague, Co-Chair of the Phoenix Community Alliance Hance Park, joined Ted Simons to discuss how this will strengthen the public space.
