Congressional District 5 Republican candidate; Colorado River proposal; immigration justice program

More from this show

Arizona PBS’ new series covering Arizona politics and elections, called “Candidates in Conversation,” as part of our “AZ Votes 2026” election coverage with host Ted Simons, sat down with Republican Arizona Congressional District 5 candidate Daniel Keenan to discuss his campaign.

We also heard from Sarah Porter, Director of Kyl Center for Water Policy, to discuss Arizona’s proposal to increase conservation. Over the next two years, the goal is to prevent any further decline in water supplied from the Colorado River and develop a long-term deal.

Finally, we sat down with David Schildkret, Professor Emeritus at ASU and Director of Music Ministries at Dayspring Church, and Evelyn Cruz, Clinical Law Professor at ASU, to learn more about an immigration justice program. Dayspring United Methodist Church in Tempe is hosting the program to support immigrants throughout the community.
