Throughout December for Heart-Warming Holiday Fun!

PHOENIX…November 29, 2012…Pour the eggnog and heat up the latkes because Eight, Arizona PBS is celebrating the season with all-new programs and holiday classics. Your family can even share holiday fun with popular PBS KIDS personalities – from The Cat in the Hat to Curious George! For a complete program lineup, visit azpbs.org/schedule. First, welcome December with story time readings of holiday tales, just-for-kids dancing and exercises, plus free cookies and hot chocolate with your favorite PBS KIDS characters at Desert Ridge Marketplace in Phoenix. Don’t miss the opportunity to meet Clifford the Big Red Dog, Super Why! and Curious George on Wednesdays, December 5, 12 and 19, at the District Stage from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Each week will feature a different PBS character.

At home, spread the holiday spirit with more PBS KIDS personalities in a series of programs focused on children and family time. The Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About Christmas! and he shares his knowledge with viewers on Sunday, December 23 at 9:30 a.m. Join the tall, talking feline in the striped hat, along with Nick and Sally, for a holiday adventure as they try to help a lost reindeer find his way back home.

Although holidays should be filled with fun, sometimes trouble just happens. In Arthur’s Perfect Christmas, Arthur, D.W. and their friends make arrangements to pull off the ideal Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa celebrations. When things don’t go as planned, Arthur learns that holiday joy isn’t found in the artificial vision of perfection, but in the wonderfully messy, imperfect world he lives in. Tune in Monday, December 24 at 3:00 p.m.

Curious George’s Christmas is not a simple one either. Curious George and the Man with the Yellow Hat cannot figure out what to give each other for a present. See how the dilemma is resolved and what lesson is revealed on Curious George: A Very Monkey Christmas, airing Monday, December 24 at 9:00 a.m.
