Eight partners with ON Media Publications

More from pressroom

PHOENIX — (April 16, 2013)  Eight, Arizona PBS is pleased to welcome a new strategic partner to the Eight family. Beginning with the May 2013 issue, ON Media Publications, a locally-owned company, will be publishing Eight’s monthly Eight Magazine. The agreement between the station and the arts publisher ensures uninterrupted production and delivery of the highly valued member publication, and a significant cost savings for Eight. As print publishing costs increased, the station faced the possibility of providing the magazine in electronic format only. ON Media will build upon Eight’s adherence to the highest environmental sustainability standards and incorporate the latest industry advances. Readers may notice a difference in the weight and quality of the paper in the new issue, printed on a slightly heavier Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified paper. FSC was founded in 1993 to address and seek solutions to the issue of global deforestation. ON Media’s commitment to sustainability extends beyond its printing practices to its business practices. Recent long-term studies identify the non-profit arts sector as a key contributor to Arizona’s economy, and by providing the publications free of charge to its arts and cultural partners, including Eight, the company allows each organization to direct more of their resources to their basic mission and to outreach programs, creating a more robust cultural climate for Arizona.

“We are thrilled to welcome Eight as our newest member of ON Media partners,” states ON Media President and Publisher Linda “Mac” Perlich. “In this age of global connectedness, the local angle becomes more essential, and Eight and Eight Magazine provide a place where Arizonans can turn to stay informed.”

“As the leader in performance program books and visitor guides for 27 of Arizona’s premier arts and cultural destinations, including five of the top-rated tourist attractions, our monthly program guide is in good hands,” says Eight, Arizona PBS General Manager Kelly McCullough. “With this new partnership, Eight Magazine will continue to bring viewers the information they depend on to help make their television viewing choices.”
