PHOENIX — (Sept. 11, 2014) Eight Arizona PBS will broadcast the 2014 Hispanic Heritage Awards, hosted by the Hispanic Heritage Foundation (HHF), in September.  The program will celebrate this year’s Hispanic Heritage Awards Honorees, who will receive their recognition on Thursday, Sept. 18 at the Warner Theatre in Washington, DC. Target, presenting sponsor for the second year, will also present an education award to the Hispanic community during the one-hour special on Monday, Sept. 29 at 8 p.m. on Eight HD.

“PBS is showcasing these awards for the first time, and Eight, Arizona PBS is proud to be broadcasting it in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month,” says Associate General Manager of Content Nancy Southgate.

The 2014 Honorees are:

Education – the Hayden High School Robotics Team, presented by Target Sports – Bernie Williams, presented by Amtrak Leadership – Henry R. Munoz III Vision – Zoe Saldaña, presented by Hershey’s STEM (Science Technology Engineering Math) – Rep. Ruben Hinojosa, presented by ExxonMobil Master of Arts – Pepe Aguilar, presented by Southwest Airlines Legend – Carlos Vives, presented by AARP

Special Recognition – 65th Infantry Regiment of the US Army “The Borinqueneers”
