Salon Music – Re-Air!

More from this show

On this re-air of Arizona Encore, we’ll enjoy intimate chamber music performances of classical music from two of our state’s nationally-renowned music presenters: the Hayden’s Ferry Chamber Music Series in Tempe and the Grand Canyon Music Festival.

Salon music like this was written for house concerts: a composer would invite his or her musical friends over to preview their new compositions. It’s classical music that is intimate, experimental and composed with that communication between artist and audience in mind. The featured performers are pianist Ying Li, the Manhattan Chamber Players and the Lysander Piano Trio, all proving that a musical instrument doesn’t need to be loud to be powerful.
