This special delves into the Arizona WWII experience. First, a woman revisits her years with the WAVES (Women Accepted for Voluntary Emergency Services). Then, American, British and Chinese pilots took advantage of Arizona’s weather and wide-open spaces to train for aerial combat. Former flight instructors and cadets recount their experiences in the Grand Canyon State. Lastly, we hear the story of Medal of Honor recipient Silvestre Herrera.
