Scottsdale Canal Art: Canal Convergence

The Scottsdale Canal Convergence features dramatic art installations in or near canals in Scottsdale. There will be 14 artworks on display, many light-based and interactive, created by local, national and international artists. We hear more Kim Boganey, director of Scottsdale Public Art, and Kristina Ricci, lead artist for the Walter Productions on “Water Serpent,” one of the art displays.

'Great Performances' showcases Broadway classics this fall

"Great Performances" returns with its third annual "Broadway's Best" lineup of acclaimed theatrical productions on Fridays at 8 p.m. starting Nov. 1 on Arizona PBS.  This fall’s lineup spotlights musicals, comedy and drama throughout the month.

"Jubilee Singers: Sacrifice and Glory" tells the inspirational story of former slaves

Following the Civil War, a group of young ex-slaves in Nashville, Tenn., set out to save their bankrupt school by giving concerts. Throughout the North and in venues across Europe, they introduced audiences to the power of spirituals.
