How 2027 Medicaid cuts will impact Arizona hospitals

More from this show

New Medicaid changes have taken effect as a result of the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act.” This month in Arizona, some legal immigrants and refugees lost their coverage. In Arizona, the expected number of people affected is over 30,000. And beginning in 2027, new work requirements for Medicaid recipients will take effect. Millions of Americans are expected to lose coverage. In Arizona, these changes will no doubt put a strain on local hospitals, as residents who are removed from Medicaid will begin seeking healthcare from ERs.

Ann-Marie Alameddin, President and CEO of the Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association, joined “Arizona Horizon” to discuss the changes.
