Medicaid cuts; college access and affordability; brain age vs retirement age

More from this show

On this episode of “Arizona Horizon,” Ann-Marie Alameddin, President and CEO of the Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association, discussed how 2027 Medicaid cuts will impact Arizona’s hospitals. Over 30,000 Arizonans are expected to be affected.

We also heard from Katie Ratlief, Executive Director of the Common Sense Institute, about families struggling with how to prepare for college costs. The Common Sense Institute found families are aware of college costs but don’t always know how to start saving and preparing.

Finally, Ross Andel, Professor at ASU’s Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation, discussed how the brain’s age could be a better indicator for determining retirement age. The brain’s age is different than our chronological age, and the typical retirement age of 62 to 67 may not be applicable for everyone.
