The Arizona Theatre Company is opening its season with “The Royale,” a production set in 1910 that is based on the life of legendary boxer Jack Johnson, who rose to fame in the midst of Jim Crow. We hear more about the play from for Bechir Sylvain, who portrays the boxer in the play, “Jay.”
