Judge ruled against Mountainside Fitness remaining open

More from this show

A request by Mountainside Fitness to keep its gyms open in defiance of the Governor’s order to close was rejected in court. The judge ruling that Mountainside must close until the gym’s lawsuit against the governor’s order is decided or the order is rescinded. We spoke with Mountainside Fitness owner Tom Hatten about the case.

The ruling comes after the gym refused to close its doors following the governor’s executive order.

On June 29, Gov. Ducey called for the closing of bars, gyms, water parks, movie theaters and river tubing. All of which came after the state saw a spike in COVID-19 cases.

Mountainside Fitness has since closed all their gyms following the ruling.
