Eco Fashion Week 2026 will kick off in Tempe
April 15
Eco Fashion Week 2026 takes place Saturday, April 18 through Saturday, April 25, 2026.
This dynamic, weeklong series of events brings together designers, entrepreneurs, students, and the community to celebrate innovation, sustainability, and ethical practices in fashion.
Eco Fashion Week continues to position Arizona as a hub for responsible apparel production while advancing FABRIC’s mission to support and grow the next generation of sustainable fashion entrepreneurs. It is about empowering our community to rethink how clothing is made and consumed.
Angela Johnson, the Co-founder of FABRIC, joined “Arizona Horizon” to discuss the upcoming events.
“It’s a way for us to be able to support sustainable fashion, and to shed light on who’s doing sustainable things in the fashion community,” Johnson said, “…to educate consumers on what the problem actually is with the fashion industry, and how unsustainable it is, and what we can do to make it better.”
Johnson emphasized that fashion is one of the most unsustainable industries on the planet. Due to consumers demanding low prices, it is forcing brands to overproduce, resulting in lots of excess inventory that is not going to biodegrade anytime soon.
“I think a lot of people think sustainable fashion means what fabric are you using,” Johnson discussed, “…that’s one part of it, but it’s that quantity that you’re making.”
Johnson explained that sustainability also has to do with consumer behavior, emphasizing that individuals should hold on to clothing longer and not think of it as disposable.
“We want to invite the community in to celebrate, and to learn about all of this,” Johnson said. “It starts with a community up-cycle project where the community gets involved and becomes designers…they up-cycle them into unique things that go on the runway at Tempe Marketplace…you can take your old clothes, and you can turn them in and walk away with new clothes for free.”
