SCOTUS rules on mail-in ballots and firings; John McCain Veterans Center; new Parkinson’s podcast

More from this show

In this episode of “Arizona Horizon,” we sat down with Stephen Montoya, partner at Montoya, Lucero and Pastor, to discuss recent U.S. Supreme Court rulings. By a vote of 6-3, the Supreme Court gave President Donald Trump sweeping new authority over two dozen multi-member agencies. The Court also ruled 5-4 that states can accept mail-in ballots after polls close in federal races.

We also heard from Brad Bridwell, COO of Victory Place, and Vern Johnson, CEO of Axiom Care, about a new behavioral health and recovery housing center honoring the late John McCain. The John McCain Veterans Center provides a recovery-oriented continuum of care where low-income Veterans struggling to navigate the challenges of substance use disorders, mental health conditions, trauma and homelessness can live in a structured setting.

Finally, former journalist and news executive Lisa Volenec discussed her new “This is Parkinson’s” podcast. On her podcast, she shares insight, advice and interviews people with Parkinson’s as well as doctors, trainers and caregivers.
