SNAP Cuts in Arizona, Advancing women’s health research, The Story of a Vietnam Veteran and His Son
June 8
More from this showIn this episode of “Arizona Horizon,” we sit down with Camryn Sanchez, a senior field correspondent at KJZZ, to discuss new work requirements for SNAP approved by congressional Republicans. While this has impacted states across the country, a study by the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities shows the cuts to SNAP in Arizona are disproportionally higher to those in other states.
We also hear from Dr. Mitzi Krockover, Professor of Practice at ASU’s College of Health Solutions and co-founder of FemtechAZ, to learn about a shared vision for advancing women’s health innovation in Arizona. Just four percent of research in the health care sector is specifically for women and that gap leaves women at risk of disease.
Finally, Frank White, a veteran and gold star father, shares how PTSD affected his life and his son’s struggle with mental health. White has made it his mission to help other veterans. He was interviewed by a local student for this year’s Imprints of Honor annual book titled “Since You Asked.”
