SNAP error rates; artificial heart transplants; Ready Tech Go initiative

More from this show

On “Arizona Horizon,” we discussed how over 450,000 people have been removed from SNAP, yet Arizona’s error rate in determining food stamp eligibility continues to increase. We welcomed Ray Stern, a reporter for the Arizona Republic.

We also learned about how Banner Health recently completed more than 50 total artificial heart implantation procedures, which is more than any center has completed since 2022. To discuss more about this, Dr. Francisco Arabia, Physician Executive for Banner-University Medicine Advanced Heart Failure Program, joined Ted Simons.

Finally, we learned about the Ready Tech Go initiative, which is a partnership between employers at six community college districts in Arizona designed to help prepare students for careers in manufacturing. Mary Foote, Director of Arizona Office of Economic Opportunity, joined Ted Simons to discuss more about the initiative.
