In-person and virtual Positive Parenting Program workshops scheduled

Arizona PBS and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona Health Choice are partnering to deliver parenting and other family resources to residents in Pinal County. Through this partnership and a donation of $25,000 from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona Health Choice, the station’s Educational Outreach team will be able to disseminate Positive Parenting Program, or Triple P, resources in Pinal County starting this October.

“For years, Arizona PBS has worked to increase access to vital learning resources in communities of all shapes and sizes across Arizona,” said Kimberly Flack, Senior Director of Educational Outreach at Arizona PBS. “Now, thanks to the support of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona Health Choice, we are able to connect parents and other early childhood caregivers with additional tools to support families and promote children’s mental health.”

The Positive Parenting Program, or Triple P, is an evidence-based initiative giving parents practical strategies to help their children develop healthy behaviors, build stronger family relationships and improve emotional well-being. The program is flexible and designed to support families with children of all ages.

“At Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona Health Choice, we are committed to investing in the health and well-being of families across our state,” said Dr. Heather Carter, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona Health Choice CEO. “Pinal County is a growing community, and we know that access to Triple P and other important family and learning resources can make a meaningful difference. By partnering with Arizona PBS, we’re helping to ensure that parents are able to access critical tools supporting their children’s mental health and overall well-being.”

Health Choice is the AHCCCS-contracted Medicaid plan affiliated with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona.

Parents looking to access these resources can attend Triple P Fearless workshops taking place Tuesday, October 21, 28 and November 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Maricopa Unified School District office in Pinal County (44150 W. Maricopa Casa Grande Highway, Maricopa, AZ). Virtual workshops will also be held on Thursday, October 23, 30 and November 6 at 6 p.m. Learn more about the Triple P/ Positive Parenting Program, or register for upcoming Triple P workshops.
