Sfizio Modern Italian Kitchen: A family-run gem in North Phoenix

More from this show

Sfizio Modern Italian Kitchen, located in North Phoenix, is a restaurant that delivers Southern Italian cuisine with a scratch kitchen, owned and run by Chef Rocco Pezzano and his family. The name Sfizio means “something you don’t need, but want,” which is fitting as you’ll definitely want to try their delicious dishes.

The menu at Sfizio is focused on pizza, pasta and seafood dishes made with the freshest ingredients, including proteins, produce and cheese. Chef Pezzano and his team make the pizza dough fresh daily, and they pride themselves on using only the best ingredients in all of their dishes.

One of the standout dishes at Sfizio is their pizza, which is made with a thin crust that’s crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. The margherita pizza, made with tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella and basil, is a customer favorite. For pasta lovers, the linguine vongole, made with fresh clams, garlic and white wine, is a must-try.

Sfizio is a family-run restaurant, and Chef Pezzano is often joined by family members who help out in the kitchen and the front of the house. This gives the restaurant a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and customers often feel like they’re part of the family.

The restaurant’s location across from Desert Ridge Marketplace provides easy access for shoppers and diners alike. The interior is cozy and intimate, perfect for a date night or a night out with friends.

Guest Jacque Fuerte raves about Sfizio’s food and atmosphere: “While we were sitting there at the bar and loving it, I ordered a meatball, and it came, and it was just huge,” Fuerte said. “The thing that made me love it immediately is that it was not dense and juicy.”

Overall, Sfizio Modern Italian Kitchen is a hidden gem in North Phoenix that shouldn’t be missed. With a commitment to fresh ingredients and family values, it’s a restaurant that offers something you don’t need but definitely want.
